CA - 13 - Featuring a ground of little black dots, and a gorgeous border. The theme of this layout highlights the Rekh outline blocks, the borders, and the two sizes of Butas. Very traditional floral patterns, this could almost be mistaken for an antique scarf with these beautiful old blocks.

Amazingly, one can still find artisans who ply their hereditary traditional textile craft with labour intensive botanical source dyes, and absolutely traditional block designs. 

A block design can be re-issued from a family heirloom design, I have met printers who re-carve designs from their Grandfather’s workshop archive. These precious new scarves were purchased directly from a traditional printer’s family. Hats off, for their dedication to the complex multiple-stage craft of developing botanic source dyes.
